The Ru-Chi Academy was founded in 1988 by Master Rudie Bynoe. He Studied the art of Tai Chi Chuan whilst serving with the RAF Police Force in Malaysia under Grand Master Lee and Grand Master Li. Rudie became a Master in 1968 before spending several years traveling the Far East and finally returning in the UK in the early 70’s to start spreading the teachings of Tai Chi and Qigong to new students in the West. Some of his original students are still training today and have become Grand Masters in their own right.

History

Master Rudie now spends his time helping to instruct the senior students of The Ru-Chi Academy. Helping them to learn the more advanced aspects of Tai Chi and Qigong, as well as helping them to understand the philosophical and spiritual facets of the art. He has helped many people with his use of complementary therapeutic sessions using his extensive knowledge of Qigong and traditional Chinese Medicine, which he has used to alleviate a wide range of ailments and injuries.

Master Rudie is also helping his newest disciple; Sifu Steve Pell, to become a Masters in his own right. Steve along with another instructor who is no longer with the Ru-Chi Academy took over the day-to-day running and teaching of the club in 2002, which has allowed him to further his own studies and understanding of what Tai Chi and Qigong is about. In addition to teaching the various classes of the Academy, Steve also organise's seminars and workshops for corporate and public events. He can also be booked to teach personal one-to-one sessions to help students on the next level of their training.
